Official Accounts are Twitter accounts that CheapTweet has verified are run directly by reputable merchants. If you see the Official Account Badge, you'll know that clicking on that deal will take you directly to the merchant instead of going through middlemen or 3rd party sites.

What does the Official Account Badge look like?

The official account badge will show up in two places: below the avatar in tweets and to the right of the account name when viewing a Twitter account.

Why have Official Accounts?

There are a large number of organizations on Twitter that offer deals and coupons. Frequently the links in their deals will send you through a 3rd party site so that these organizations can collect a fee for sending you on to the merchant. Often these offers are identical to those from the merchant. With Official Accounts, we can help to ensure that you get the deals directly from the source without having to go through any middlemen.

How are Official Accounts Determined?

We use various sources of information to determine whether an account can receive the Official Account Badge. If you run the official Twitter account of a merchant and your account has not already been flagged as Official, please contact us to discuss getting an Official Account Badge.
